# How to Change PHP Settings

Settings such as memory limit, upload size and execution time affect how PHP applications run.

## Common Settings

- memory_limit
- upload_max_filesize
- post_max_size
- max_execution_time
- max_input_vars
- date.timezone

## Safe Changes

1. Record existing values.
2. Change only the setting required by the application.
3. Keep values within hosting limits.
4. Save and test the affected operation.
5. Revert unnecessary increases.

## Resource Use

**Important:** Increasing limits does not fix inefficient code and may cause the account to consume excessive resources.

## Need Help?

If you still need assistance, open a support ticket through your Vertico client account and include the affected domain or email address, a screenshot of the error, and the approximate time the problem occurred. Never send passwords by email or support ticket.
