A database export protects website content, settings and transactional data.

1. Open phpMyAdmin.
2. Select the database.
3. Choose Export.
4. Use Quick for a normal complete backup or Custom for advanced options.
5. Select SQL format.
6. Download and store the file securely.

## Backup Frequency

- Before installing an unfamiliar plugin or module.
- Daily for frequently changing business systems.
- Before moving servers or changing database structure.

## Sensitive Data

**Important:** Database backups may contain personal information and passwords. Store and transfer them securely.
