# How to Move WordPress to Vertico Hosting

A WordPress migration includes files, database, configuration, DNS and SSL.

## Migration Steps

1. Back up the original site.
2. Create the destination domain and database.
3. Upload WordPress files.
4. Import the database.
5. Update database credentials in wp-config.php.
6. Replace old URLs when the domain changes.
7. Test using a temporary method before DNS cutover.
8. Point DNS to Vertico.
9. Issue SSL and test forms, email and redirects.

## Keep the Old Hosting

 **Important:** Do not cancel the old service until the migrated site has been tested and DNS propagation is complete.
