# How to Read Application Logs

Application logs record errors, warnings and events needed for debugging.

## Effective Log Review

1. Reproduce the issue once.
2. Note the exact time and affected user or URL.
3. Open the application and server logs.
4. Start with entries around that time.
5. Identify the first meaningful error, not only later consequences.
6. Trace the file, line and request context.
7. Apply one controlled fix and retest.

## Production Logging

- Do not log passwords or tokens.
- Rotate large logs.
- Restrict access.
- Use consistent timestamps and time zones.

## Need Help?

If you still need assistance, open a support ticket through your Vertico client account and include the affected domain or email address, a screenshot of the error, and the approximate time the problem occurred. Never send passwords by email or support ticket.
