# How to Whitelist or Blacklist an Email Address

Allow and block lists can influence how spam filtering treats specific senders.

## Whitelist a Trusted Sender

1. Open the spam or filter settings.
2. Add the complete sender address or trusted domain.
3. Save the change.
4. Ask the sender to resend the message.

## Blacklist an Unwanted Sender

1. Add the specific address first.
2. Block an entire domain only when every sender from it is unwanted.
3. Monitor the spam folder for false matches.

## Security Warning

**Important:** A displayed From address can be forged. Whitelisting does not prove that every message is genuine.

## Need Help?

If you still need assistance, open a support ticket through your Vertico client account and include the affected domain or email address, a screenshot of the error, and the approximate time the problem occurred. Never send passwords by email or support ticket.
