Forcing HTTPS redirects visitors from the insecure HTTP address to the encrypted version.
Before Redirecting #
- Confirm a valid SSL certificate is installed.
- Test important pages over HTTPS.
- Update hard-coded image, script and stylesheet URLs.
- Back up the configuration file.
Redirect Methods #
Use the control panel's force-HTTPS option when available, a web-server configuration rule, or the application's own canonical URL settings.
Avoid Redirect Loops #
Important: Do not apply multiple conflicting HTTPS rules in the application, .htaccess and proxy service.
