Security Checklist #

• Keep WordPress, themes and plugins updated.
• Delete unused software.
• Use unique administrator passwords.
• Restrict administrator accounts.
• Back up off-site.
• Use SSL.
• Protect forms from abuse.
• Monitor unexpected file changes.
• Do not install pirated themes or plugins.

After a Compromise #

1. Put the site in maintenance mode if necessary.
2. Change all related passwords.
3. Preserve logs and a copy for investigation.
4. Remove malicious files using a clean source.
5. Update vulnerable components.
6. Review administrator users and scheduled tasks.

Imunify Protection #

Vertico hosting may use Imunify security tools to help detect malicious files and suspicious activity. This server-side protection complements, but does not replace, secure WordPress administration and regular updates.
