How to Change the PHP Version

Different websites may require different PHP versions.

Change in DirectAdmin #

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
  2. Open the domain settings or PHP Version Selector.
  3. Select the version supported by the application.
  4. Save the change.
  5. Test the public website and admin area.

Before Changing #

  • Create a backup.
  • Check application and plugin compatibility.
  • Review deprecated PHP features.
  • Test forms, payments and scheduled tasks.

Rollback #

If the website breaks, return to the previous working PHP version and investigate compatibility before trying again.
