The error means WordPress cannot connect to its configured database.
Check in Order #
- Confirm the database server is available.
- Open wp-config.php.
- Verify database name, user, password and host.
- Confirm the database user still exists.
- Check that the database is not corrupted.
- Review recent password or migration changes.
Protect Credentials #
Important: Do not paste database passwords into public forums or screenshots.
