Create Safely #

1. Create a subdomain or separate directory.
2. Copy website files and database.
3. Update configuration and URLs.
4. Block public indexing.
5. Password-protect the staging site.
6. Test changes.
7. Back up production before deployment.
8. Move only verified changes to the live site.

Data Warning #

Do not overwrite new orders, registrations or content created on the live site while testing.
