Directory protection requires visitors to enter a username and password before viewing selected content.

Enable Protection #

1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
2. Open File Manager or Password Protected Directories.
3. Select the directory.
4. Enable protection.
5. Create an authorised username and strong password.
6. Test in a private browser window.

Limitations #

Directory passwords are useful for staging areas but do not replace application-level user permissions or encryption.
