A forwarder sends mail addressed to one account or alias to another email address.
Create in DirectAdmin #
- Log in to DirectAdmin.
- Open E-mail Manager.
- Choose Forwarders.
- Select Create E-mail Forwarder.
- Enter the source address and destination.
- Save and send a test message.
Forwarder vs Mailbox #
A forwarder does not always store a local copy. Create a mailbox as well if messages must remain available on the hosting server.
Deliverability Note #
Important: Forwarding can interact with sender authentication. For important business mail, consider collecting mail directly by IMAP instead of forwarding through multiple providers.
